		"text": "<p><br />The title may be a bit prosaic, but the starkness of this crater alone on the terrain can more than make up for that. A pedestal crater is one where the ejecta blanket (the material is that thrown out at impact and then settles back down around it) is made of material that proves to be more resistant to erosion than the surrounding terrain. Over perhaps millennia, erosion works on that terrain but the crater and its blanket wind up appearing “on top” of the ground, i.e., looking like a pedestal.<br /></p>"
