The eastern rim of Bonestell Crater is well-illuminated in this picture from 2008. We can easily see the eroded rim, which indicates that the 42-kilometer diameter impact crater is indeed, very, very old.
It’s named after Chesley Bonestell, an American painter, designer and illustrator (1888-1986).
